Break Time’s Over

August 25, 2010

The title pretty much says how I’m feeling. I’ve been getting more sleep, and I’ve only had one migraine since I took a break from raiding. I start my new shift in two weeks, and that will make it easier on me for raiding to boot. I can’t wait to get back to raiding again, I’ve been going a little crazy without it, it was my way to blow off steam from the rest of the crap of the week.
So I was able to polish off two things from the bucket list this weekend. I knocked out Sunken Temple, which also let me finish up the Classic Dungeonmaster achievement also. So that’s two more down and a butt load more to go lol. I finally got Wife to reactivate her account this week, and along with our one daughter we went mount farming in ZG. Lotta fun, and was pretty easy with Mock turtle tanking, Wife DPSing, and the youngin healing. Maybe this weekend we can do it again, and knock out ZG in the process.
So it seems Blizz has made some major changes to us hunters in the latest patch. First off, the change that has Wife upset. Volley has gone the way of the dodo. Multi-shot is going to be our AOE attack, along side our traps. Wow, so unless MS is going to have no cool down, low focus cost, and hits more that 3 mobs at a time. Oh, and it has to hit like a MAC truck too. The other change I noticed was they aren’t going to be putting rhumba in the game. GC gave the lamest excuse I have ever heard for them chopping a talent. He said that BM had “too many damage talents”. I guess BM’s DPS was getting too high in cata for him. We all know that GC hates BM. He’s already admitted we were over nerfed in the expansion, so what’s another hit to our DPS then right? Besides, it just sounded like a fun talent. Instead we get Crouching Tiger, Hidden Chimera? WTH? We go from a cool DPS talent, to a talent that rewards us for being where we shouldn’t be in the first place?? And GC said he was afraid that we would take rhumba over other talents for the damage boost? By the time we get done spending our 31 points, we only have a talent or two left without points. Rhumba would’ve been an awesomely fun talent to play around with. I guess we’ll never know, but hey it could end up like camo and make a come back in the next expansion.
So until next time don’t forget to reload, so you don’t run out of ammo.

Cataclysm Collector’s Editon Announced

August 19, 2010

Ok the big news this week is Blizz has announced what’s going to be in the CE, and what the boxes will look like.

The special Collector’s Edition package, which will only be available at retail stores, will include the following exclusive bonus items in addition to the game disc:

— Art of the Cataclysm art book, featuring 176 pages of never-before-seen images from the archives of the Blizzard Entertainment cinematics department and the World of Warcraft development team, as well as progressive visuals from multiple stages of development.

— Exclusive in-game pet: he may not be a breaker of worlds just yet, but Lil’ Deathwing will still proudly accompany heroes on their struggle to save Azeroth from his much, much larger counterpart.

— Behind-the-scenes DVD with over an hour of developer interviews and commentaries, as well as a special Warcraft(R) retrospective examining the rich gaming history of the Warcraft universe.

— Soundtrack featuring 10 epic new tracks from Cataclysm, including exclusive bonus tracks.

— Special-edition mouse pad depicting Deathwing menacing the ravaged continents of Azeroth.

— World of Warcraft Trading Card Game cards, including a 60-card starter deck from the Wrathgate series, two extended-art cards, and two Collector’s Edition-exclusive hero cards, marking the first appearance of goblin and worgen heroes in the TCG.

The first two World of Warcraft expansions, The Burning Crusade(R) and Wrath of the Lich King(R), each shattered PC game sales records upon their release. In Cataclysm, the face of Azeroth will be forever altered by the return of the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing. Players will explore once-familiar areas of the world that have now been reshaped by the devastation and filled with new adventures. In an effort to survive the planet-shattering cataclysm, two new playable races — worgen and goblins — will join the struggle between the Alliance and the Horde. As players journey to the new level cap of 85, they’ll discover newly revealed locations, acquire new levels of power, and come face to face with Deathwing in a battle to determine the fate of the world.

The beta test for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is currently underway. To set up a account and sign up for a chance to participate, please visit the official website at

The World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Collector’s Edition will be available on DVD-ROM for Windows(R) XP/Windows Vista(R)/Windows(R) 7 and Macintosh(R) at a suggested retail price of $79.99. The release date and other details for the game will be announced in the months ahead. For more information on World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, please visit the official website at

Gotta love the cover art, and Deathwing looks fantastic. The CE is coming with the standard goodies; art book, behind the scenes DVD, TCG decks and cards, mouse pad, and of course Lil Deathwing as the new in game pet.
This time around, I think we’re going to end up pre-ordering the game at either Best Buy or Gamestop. We had a big problem with Walmart and Chuck the manager’s attitude. We had checked with them several times in the weeks leading up to the WotLK launch, and they swore up and down that they would have it. Lo and behold, come the night of the release we get there and, and we’re told that they don’t have the CE. Chuck then starts yelling how if we didn’t hear it from him, don’t ask him about it. So yeah, either Best Buy or Gamestop this time around for sure. So until time don’t forget to reload, so you don’t run out of ammo.

The Bucket

August 9, 2010

The end is near for Azeroth as we know it. The Cataclysm Beta is moving along and reported that Blizz is still planning on a 2010 release. Now that I’m taking a break from raiding, I have some free time on my hands now. So I’ve decided to work on a bucket list for Azeroth. That’s right, a list of things that I want to finish before the Aspect of Death comes to set the world ablaze. So without further ado, let’s see what is on the list…

Classic Dungeon Master
Dire Maul

Sunken Temple
The Loremaster
Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms
Loremaster of Kalimdor
Loremaster of Northrend
The Empire of Zul’Drak
The Summit of Storm Peak
Ice Crown: The Final Goal
3000 quests (the seeker title and tabard)
30 Exalted Reputations
The Diplomat
They Love Me In That Tunnel
Guardian Of Cenarius
Hero Of The Zandalar
Brood Of Nozdorma
Dinner Impossible
The Scavenger
The Fishing Diplomat
Master Angler Of Azeroth
One That Didn’t Get Away
Old Crafty
Old Ironjaw
Deadliest Catch
Turtles All The Way Down
Gurubashi Arena Master
Gurubashi Arena Grand Master
For The Alliance
Death To The Warchief
Bleeding Bloodhood
Downing The Dark Lady
Killed In Quel’Thalas
Call In The Cavalry
Twenty-five Tabards
A Lich King KILL
A Frostsaber mount
A ZG Raptor Mount
A ZG Tiger Mount
The Baron’s Mount
A furblog stick

Ugh, that’s a pretty good sized list. I guess I should start working on it. Now some will be easier than others. Some will be harder. Some will want to have me smashing my face on desk over the grinding that needs to be done. Then there’s my nemesis the dreaded RNG that I’ll be fighting also. It looks like a fair bit of work, but I think if I try I will be able to get most if not all of them done. So until next time don’t forget to reload, so you don’t run out of ammo.

Taking A Break For A Bit

August 4, 2010

So it’s official. As of to day, I’ve stopped raiding with DRC, for now. I’ve ran in to some health issues, and they’ve forced me to start seeing a neurologist. He thinks that my lack of sleep, plus stress, and my blood pressure going through the roof, are making my migraines worse than ever. So I had to make a choice about my life and making a change to make my life better, and help keep me sane…er. So on top of that, we’re going through the yearly shift shuffle at work, and I’m going to be changing my days off and hours.
So I do plan on raiding again, if I’m feeling better after I start my new shift in September. IF I do start raiding again, I hope it will be with DRC. If I’m not able to raid on their schedule, then I wish them the best. Then it looks like I’ll be forced to look for another guild or raid group, and hope I get as lucky as I did with DRC and House Stalwart. So until next time don’t forget to reload, so you don’t run out of ammo.
