Mountin Up And Movin Out

September 4, 2010

Ugh so I’m sure we’ve all heard the news about our beloved ZG. Come Cataclysm, it will be lost as we know. Now does this mean that they are turning it in to a 5 man? Are they going to make it part of STV? Is it just going away? We don’t know yet. All I know is that time is running out on ZG, and the mounts still aren’t MINE YET AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!
Now all I have to do is just rally the troops enough to run ZG each week…

So until next time don’t forget to reload, so you don’t run out of ammo.

What It Takes To Lead A Raid

May 3, 2010

Well my daughter recently restarted her old guild again. She asked me a rather strange question today. She asked me to start leading her 10 man ICCs when they start running them. She’s never been in ICC before, sand she only has 1 other person so far that’s in T10 gear also. Oh, and did I mention Wife is also going to be coming along? Now the big question is will Wife’s computer be able to handle ICC 10 man? If not will she be willing to use the desktop we have setup in the back room? Time will tell. The next question on the agenda is beer or xanax while I’m herding the cats? 😉

Duranub has 7 of the bosses on farm right now, and we’re working on Blood Queen. So I know the first 7 fights pretty well on 25 man, however I’ve never been to the 10 man version. So it’s time for me to do some research about all the trash, traps, mobs, and bosses we’ll find. Luckily, I have access to the interwebz, and all the great people in both House Stalwart and Duranub. So it’s time to start studying up on the difference between 10 and 25 man ICC.  So wish me luck, and pass the beer and Excedrin.

So now we’re working on gearing Wife’s hunter and the Kid’s druid. The 3 of us have started running randoms together, and hitting the weekly raid when we can. I’ll probably keep running them on Gwen until I can get enough badges to finish getting all the heirloom gear I want for my furry warrior, and the mammoth mount. After that, well it depends, I’m about to hit 80 on my shammy, and my DK still needs more badge gear also. So I guess it will depend on what I feel like at the time. It should be a lot of fun… and a little stressful.

So I finally had a little bit of loot luck the other week. Zod’s finally dropped for me and I hit exalted with the Ashen Verdict. So now all I need is the damn trinket to drop…

So until next time don’t forget to reload, so you don’t run out of ammo.

Finally

August 20, 2009

Well, Tuesday was the first time since 3.2 hit that I’ve had a chance to raid, and it was worth the wait. We were a little short on DPS, and had to bring in Wife and a few new people to round us out. Everything went very smoothly once we got started for the rest of the night.

The RNG decided to smile on us last night. Nothing was sharded and many upgrade were had. Most importantly though, both Wife and I received big upgrades, hers was way bigger than mine though ;). The Shoulders of Misfortune dropped from one of the trash packs on the way to Kolo, and she won it with ease. As for me, well after almost 12 weeks of killing Kolo, I finally got Giant’s Bane!! Of course I haven’t been able to use it yet. I had the new scope in my bag, so I was ready there. Ammo, ummm…. yeah I kinda forgot to grab the 3 stacks of mammoth cutter out of the bank before the raid last night….DOH! So until next time, don’t forget to reload (like I did this week) so you don’t run out of ammo.

Thursday In Ulduar

June 13, 2009

Thursday night has come and gone again in the blink of an eye. We were off to a late start last night, we were trying to scrape together the last 2 people to fill out our raid. Bel then asked asked me what Wife was doing and if she wanted to come along. Well, Wife ended up being our lucky number 25 for the night. Now Wife’s gear isn’t the best in the world, but she does the best with what she has. We went straight to Kologarn to start the night off. It was a bit of a rocky start as we tried a couple of new things and showed a few people how the fight went. On our fourth try we downed him nice and easy. He dropped his box and inside the box it dropped. That’s right Giant’s Bane. It’s was a nice upgrade for me, using Arrowsong, and a huge upgrade for Wife, using Nesingwary 4000. Sigh… I know Wife has been chomping at the bit to start getting better gear so she can raise her DPS so she can get more invites, and I was hoping that it would drop. What can I say, I buckled and let Wife win it. Now I want you to know I didn’t let it go for a low bid, I knew how much DKP she had, so I got Wife into a bidding war :). Now if my wonderful luck holds out like it has been, I will NEVER see that gun drop again >.<. Its going to be just like the Bandit’s Insignia and never ever drop again LOL. All I have to say is GRATZ Kiddo enjoy the gun!!

Short Night

From there we trotted on over to the Assembly of Iron. Once again it only took us one try to finish them off. Unlike last week, we had a rougher time of it, and almost had to wipe at one point. Luckily our druid’s battle rez came off of its cool down after Bel died and Euron picked the boss back up. We were able to get Bel back up and Runemaster Molgeim back on him with out much difficulty. We finished off the last 2 members of the council and the loot was split. At this point the raid council made a decision to call it a night about 30 minutes early. We didn’t have enough left to make any decent attempts against her after we finished trash to really work on the crazy cat lady. However next week will be a different story. Next week we are driving straight to her. That’s right, no Razor, no Ignis, no Assembly. Just FL, XT, Kologarn and then the crazy cat lady for the rest of the week. How did I do this week? Better than last just take a peak below. So, until next time don’t forget to reload so you don’t run out of ammo.
